Another great vehicle which our Car-E-Lease UK had the opportunity to review at the Go Electric! event courtesy of Williams BMW Fleet Team – the BMW 5 Series Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV).
As we have been discussing, the opportunity for individual and business to come together with Lets-Go-Electric, Transport for Greater Manchester and the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce is a fantastic one.
Without doubt, this is something which other local authorities and cities should be replicating in order to bring all of the necessary functions together. For electric vehicles, or any alternative fuel ideas, to work this will need the support of councils, transport groups, vehicle suppliers, infrastructure, charge-point installers and finance companies.
Without a doubt this is all relatively new and individuals/businesses are still nervous about how they get involved in this area and what steps they will take to get involved.
In terms of the car shown here, the BMW 5 SERIES SALOON 530e M Sport 4dr Auto (PHEV), this is based on the following configuration:
· Alpine White Solid Paint
· Dakota leather – Black/Black world with exclusive stitching
· 19″ M double spoke light alloy wheels – style 664M + Run flat tyres
· Fine wood poplar grain grey interior trim with pearl chrome finish
As standard the car includes 19” alloys, Bluetooth, sport seats, cruise control with brake function, Dakota leather upholstery, park distance control, 2 zone air conditioning, 3 stage heated front seats, part electric front seats, acoustic glazing, heated windscreen with washer jets, rain sensing wipers, brake energy regeneration, DTC, hill start assist, M Sport braking, floor mats, 20GB hard drive, active guard, connected eDrive services, digital cockpit, navigation Professional, real time traffic information, iDrive controller with 10/2” colour screen, auto dimming rear view mirror, electric heated aspheric door mirrors, DAB radio, illuminated door sill inlays, M aerodynamics body kit, LED daytime running lights, LED fog lights, alarm system with immobiliser, warning triangle/first aid kit, ambient interior lighting and mm specific steering wheel.
In terms of additional options on the 530e, consider – sun protection glass, enhanced Bluetooth with wireless charging and the comfort pack.
On the technical-side company car and business users can note the P11d at £49,945.00 and CO2 at 49g/km. The 1998CC 8 speed petrol engine (coupled with a Lithium-Ion battery) delivers 128 combined MPG (NEDC), 252ps and 0-62 times of 6.2 seconds. The 9.2kWh battery offers circa 30 miles on a full electric charge. Services intervals on the BMW 5 series PHEV are every 24 months or 18,000 miles, whichever lands sooner.
So would you select the BMW 5 Series as your next leasing option? Or would the Volvo XC60 T8, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV or even a fully-electric Jaguar I-Pace be your choice?
