Our happy local business leasing customer, from St Helens (Merseyside), kindly sent the CarLease UK team pictures of their new performance vehicle – the BMW M4!
The M performance product is still incredibly popular in the UK and over the last few months’ our leasing deals on the BMW M2, BMW M3 and BMW M4 coupe and cabrio have proved to be very popular.
Notwithstanding the current political and economic situation, customers are still considering performance cars.
Only yesterday BMW announced the official launch of the X3 and X4 M Competition which are 3.0 litre 6-cylinder petrol options offering customers 510hp and 0-62 times of 4 seconds!
While manufacturers are putting great emphasis into “eco” options they are still producing and developing some pretty exciting models too. Luxury and performance car deals are not dead yet.
For most of 2019 we have been discussing the impact of hybrid, PHEV and electric cars on the UK leasing market.
As part of this it is pertinent to remind customers about the changes in the vehicle testing which came into effect last year and which will continue to develop over the coming year.
The worldwide harmonised light vehicle testing procedure (WLTP) which applies to all new cars registered on or after September 2018. Before WLTP vehicles were tested under the NEDC programme however, a number of high profile scandals emerged in what has been termed as “dieselgate”.
Effectively the quality of the testing process and the information being supplied by the manufacturers was alleged to be inaccurate; combined MPG was seen as unrealistic and CO2 statistics were grossly exaggerated.
The litigation has continued on this matter…
