A big thank you to our leading car rental partners, Enterprise, for allowing us to photograph yet another of their fleet – the Hyundai TUCSON ESTATE 1.6 GDi Blue Drive SE Nav 5dr 2WD Manual. If you are in the market for short-term car rental requirements, particularly if you are based in the Wigan, St Helens, Warrington and Manchester area, do get in touch with their team there.
As we can only offer contract hire arrangements for 2 years (or more), CarLease UK do not offer short-term solutions. If you have an employee on a probation period, this may be the right option for you in the interim(or while you wait for your new lease car).
In terms of the car shown, the Hyundai Tuscon petrol estate SE Nav, this is based on the following configuration:
· Pearl – Platinum silver
· Cloth – Blue/black
· 17″ alloy wheels
Over the last 2 years, this has become the preferred choice of car for families.
What is quite interesting, particularly with political discourse, is that more petrol crossovers and SUVs are being produced amidst the anti-diesel feeling. Many years ago, due to tax advantages (and thoughts on CO2), the Government effectively pushed drivers into diesel vehicles. This led to huge investment into diesel vehicles and created an environment where it was almost intolerable to have a petrol car. In a complete turnaround 180 politicians are now saying that this was incorrect and have been somewhat critical of current car purchasing and leasing behaviour. The emphasis is now very much on petrol cars, particularly with electrical technology (the PHEV for example).
For drivers who are covering low miles, it makes great sense not to jump into a diesel vehicle (think about DPF issues/cost of fuel). But, to be clear, the diesel engine is not dead contrary to popular opinion.
We are still a long way from having good value hybrid/electric vehicles and while this will eventually become the choice of car for many users, further investment is still required.
In terms of the car shown here, this has a good level of specification including tinted glass, brake assist, hill start assist, trailer stability assist, Bluetooth, cruise control, lane assist, reversing camera, 8” touchscreen nav, elective heated door mirrors, body coloured bumpers, heated front seats, alarm, immobiliser, driver lumbar adjustment and a leather steering wheel. For the petrol Tuscon, there are no additional factory options you can add as the SE Nav is the top of the range. You can go down to the “S” is you are on a budget. However, if you need a bit of specification you have to go for a diesel engine so you can have the “premium” range – adds features like upbraided leather and navigation.
On the technical-side, company car drivers can note the CO2 at 147g/km and £22,181.00 P11d for a standard vehicle. The 1591CC engine 6 speed manual engine delivers 44.8 combined MPG and 0-62 times of 11.5 seconds (based on 132ps). Service intervals are set at every 24 months or 20,000 miles so do consider the driver-maintained vs funder-maintained arrangements.
So would the Tuscon be your SUV leasing option? Or would you be heading into the Kia Sportage, Peugeot 3008 or Renault Kadjar?
