Thank you to our car rental partners, Enterprise at Leigh (nr Manchester), for allowing us to photograph and review another addition to their Christmas fleet solutions – the Hyundai Tuscon.
Around this time of year, car rental demand does increase significantly as customers need temporary solutions for the festive period. In particular, there is big demand for SUV and crossover type vehicles which can comfortably carry the driver and passengers on the UK roads. If you, or your business, is looking at short-term vehicle procurement solutions, you need to speak to car rental organisations like Enterprise.
We cannot offer short-term solutions, as the minimum contracts that we offer are 24 months.
Additionally, do note that Enterprise can incorporate the cost of all insurance into your car hire solution (for an additional cost).
Car hire and contract hire are very different products and you must treat these very differently. With contract hire, this is a financial product which is very much based on credit and underwriting. For an individual, this means you will need to submit a number of details to us in a “proposal form” including:
· Full name;
· Date of birth;
· 5 year address history;
· 3 year employment history;
· Bank details – for establishing a direct debit; and
· Income and expenditure – analysis of all your income (gross and net) and all the various living expenses.
As a credit broker, we do not make the decision on your credit. We use a form to take this information from you and then forward it to the relevant finance company who will undertake the search. As a practical route moving forwards, if you have any concerns about your credit, consider running an online credit report first which should help identify any issues which you may have. Do ensure that you are on the electoral register at your current address and that you have no outstanding or late payments on your credit file. As you are undertaking a big committing in leasing a car, do not presume that this is a “non-status” product – it isn’t.
In terms of the actual car pictured here, the Hyundai TUCSON DIESEL ESTATE 1.7 CRDi Blue Drive SE Nav 5dr 2WD DCT, this is based on the following configuration:
· Metallic – Fiery Red
· Cloth – Blue/black
· 17″ alloy wheels
As standard, the car includes tinted glass, intermittent wipers, emergency stop signal system, hill start assist, trailer ability assist, cruise control, Bluetooth, lane keep assist, reversing camera, rear parking sensor, 8” screen, electric heated and folding door mirrors, DAD radio, body coloured aesthetics, LED lights, automatic headlights, full size spare wheel, 17” alloys and heated front seats. With Hyundai there is no ability to add on any additional factory options, you just upgrade in terms of vehicle class. If you want to improve on the car here you would need to go for a “premium” or “premium se”.
On the technical-side, company car and business drivers can note the P11d at £26,151.00 and CO2 at 129g/km. The 1685CC 7 speed auto engine delivers 141ps, 57.6 combined MPG and 0-62 times of 11.5 seconds. Service intervals on the Hyundai are set at every 12 months or 20,000 miles, whichever lands sooner. As such, do weigh up the cost differences between a funder-maintained arrangement (where you have the cost of all servicing, tyres, maintenance and breakdown recovery included within the cost you pay) and a driver-maintained (where you pay the cost of maintenance separately).
So would the Hyundai Tucson be you selected leasing option? Or would you choose one of the other fantastic SUV offers – Peugeot 3008, Kia Sportage, Seat Ateca or Ford Kuga?
