Thank you to our St Helens (Merseyside) based business leasing customer for visiting the CarLease UK team to collect their new replacement vehicle – the new shape Mercedes A Class.
As a local customer, we offer a service whereby we will take delivery of their car during the week and then organise the actual delivery to take place on a Saturday between 9 and 12.
As we will discuss within this blog, when you organise a new contract hire vehicle, delivery is included within the cost you pay per month; you would only be charged additional costs in exceptional circumstances. However, the main point to note is that a Saturday and/or Sunday delivery is often not possible.
Most, if not all, of the deliveries we organise will take place on Monday – Friday between 8am and 5pm. If you are a personal customer, the finance company may force you to take delivery at your home address and conversely if you are a business customer, you may have to take delivery at the business premises (which you supply at the proposal process).
In terms of the car shown here, the Mercedes-Benz A Class Hatchback A200 AMG Line Premium 5 Door Auto (Petrol), this is based on the following configuration:
· Polar White Solid Paint
· Artico Leather/ Dinamica – Black with Red Stitching
· Light Aluminium with Longitudinal Grain Interior Trim
· 18″ AMG 5 Twin Spoke Light Alloy Wheels in Titanium Grey with High Sheen Finish
· Advanced Navigation Pack – A Class
As standard the car includes hard-disk navigation, Bluetooth, rain sensing wipers, active brake assist with forward collision warning with autonomous braking, adaptive brake assist, brake callipers with Mercedes lettering, AMG floor mats, 180 degree rear view camera, active lane keep assist, active park assist with front and rear parking sensors, attention assist, cruise control, 10.25” digital instrument cluster and a 10.25” media display, Mercedes me connect, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, body coloured externals, DAB radio, mid-range sound system, diamond radiator grille, LED high performance headlamps, LED lamp, 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel, gearshift paddles on steering wheel, 64 colour ambient lighting, mirror package, seat comfort package, heated front seats and 18” alloy wheels. Apart from the upgraded trim and the advanced navigation, there is very little you could add to the car.
The Advanced Navigation on the new A-Class is very impressive; when you approach a junction or turning, the car shows you on a live stream (via a camera on the front of the vehicle) exactly where you are and where you need to turn. The display used coloured arrows which point to where you need to turn (or stop). This page is well-worth reviewing on line with Mercedes.
In terms of the technical-side, the company car and business users can note the P11d at £31,470.00 and CO2 at 123g/km for company car tax calculations. The 1332CC 7 speed auto petrol engine delivers 53.3 combined MPG, 163ps and 0-62 times of 8 seconds. Service intervals on a petrol a-class are every 12 months or 15,500 miles, whichever lands sooner.
While the performance is very credible, if you need something a little “punchier”, you need to go for an A250 petrol. The 1991CC 7 speed auto petrol engine delivers a more conservative 45.6 combined MPG with an exciting 224ps and 0-62 time of 6.2 seconds.
The question is – would you select this A-Class as your next leasing option? Or does the VW Golf, Audi A3 or BMW 1 Series or a Ford Focus Vignale get your vote?
