As Model 3 sales have increased in volume, Tesla revenue has spiked in the last financial quarter, according to their own reports. With income of $3.9bn in the three months through to June 2018, they have beaten the same quarter of last year by over 40%.
Of the 39,800 cars delivered, over 18,000 of those were Model 3, demonstrating the change that the 3 is going to make to Tesla. In the same quarter, the firm still lost over $700m, as it invests to bring the Model 3 to more markets.
In July, there was reason to celebrate as the factory churned out 5,000 Model 3 in a week on two occasions. This target is Elon Musk’s target for sustained profitability.
