It was a pleasure for the CarLease UK team to personally hand over Vauxhall’s newest (and impressive) SUV option – the Grandland X.
Based on a Peugeot 3008 platform, the Grandland X is set to offer customers a bigger model to the Mokka X and Crossland X.
Earlier this year, the PSA takeover of Vauxhall was announced, as Peugeot/Citroen moved more heavily into the UK market.
With economic pressures and changes (Brexit, WLTP, VED) manufacturers are facing increasing uncertainty about the future of their products and the viability of progression.
Add to the mix a cost-demanding market (in the UK we are driven by the cheapest price for the best car) and an enthusiastic approach to environmentally friendly vehicles, and you can see why there is such trepidation.
In order to survive all manufacturers are either forming strategic alliances, merging or acquiring one another. Moving into the future we will probably see less product/less choice and higher prices (particularly if these are electric/hybrid vehicles).
